Recently, our laboratory has been able to acquire a new chemistry analyzer. It runs test such as cholesterol, glucose, and a myriad of others. We were even able to save money by this upgrade! It is very impressive at almost 14 feet long! It is actually a little intimidating! It will be a huge gain in technology and efficiency for the laboratory.

Included in the purchase price are three training slots for lab techs to travel to the manufacturer and spend a week or more learning how to operate this complex machine. We trust that the one who made it will be able to effectively train us how to use it!

Do you ever feel that you just don’t have the ability to handle the responsibilities in front of you with quality? Sometimes this is true at work, sometimes with our responsibilities at church, maybe even in our family roles! God is the originator of every talent and ability. We can trust that the One who made us will be able to give us what we need to operate effectively!

During the Exodus of the Israelites, God gave them very detailed instructions to make a sanctuary which would be the focus of corporate worship for them.

Then the LORD said to Moses,  “See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah,  and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts-  to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze,  to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of craftsmanship.  Moreover, I have appointed Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, to help him. Also I have given skill to all the craftsmen to make everything I have commanded you:  Exodus 31:1-6

God, in His own words, stated very plainly that He would fill Bezalel with His Spirit and with skill, ability, and knowledge! Wow! the very best Source of information! Some time later, Moses repeated these words and added more:

And he has given both him and Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach others. Exodus 35:34

When these men were filled with the Spirit of God, they were powered up to not only create amazing things out of a wide variety of materials, but they were able to teach others to do the same! Interesting. God wanted their worship. He gave them instructions to build a sanctuary. He filled them with His Spirit so they were able to carry out His will!

Do you feel called to do something that seems a little out of your comfort zone? Do you feel unworthy or unable to perform the jobs set before you? Do not fear. through His Spirit, He will provide you with everything you need to do His will at work, in your church, and at home. Hey, if two guys named Bezalel Urison and Oholiab Ahisamachson could do it, so can you!

My youngest daughter loves being organized. As a young child, she preferred to have her household duties written in list form so that she could mark them off to measure her progress. Even now, she is happiest when she makes her own list of all her homework, chores, and other projects in hand, ready to be checked off when completed. She is frustrated when she can’t record important information that she wants to keep track of and will go to great lengths to do so.

I have always had a personal lack of appreciation for tattoos. Imagine my surprise when one of her common strategies involves a pen or marker and one or both arms! It is not uncommon for her to come home with various bits of information recorded in several colors!

God wants to record important things in unique places too! He says to us-

“I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts.” Jeremiah 31:33.

Law? Do I really want to have a bunch of rules in me? Paul clears that up pretty directly.

for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law. Romans 13:8

I can imagine God saying,” I will put my law of love in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will engrave a picture of My Son in you. I will upload Who I Am into you so that you will reflect me.

Do you ever find it difficult to act like Jesus? I sure do. Does it seem that no matter how hard you try, self keeps pushing to the forefront?  Jesus knows that. Why else would he promise to write in us? All we need to do is to give Him writing privileges on our heart hard drive. And He will. He will write Himself into us so that we act more like Him and less like us.. It’s not about us and our hard work. It is all about Him writing in us. It’s grace.

Father, You have permission to engrave Your law of love on my heart, carve a picture of Jesus in the center of me. Do it in bold, italics, and all CAPS, Father! Let me look more like the Son and less like me every day.
